Over 20% of Italy's population is over 65 years old
The average life expectancy - 79.54 years
The flag was introduced during Napoleon's 1797 invasion and was
 inspired by the French flag. The three colours represent 3 virtues: hope (green), faith (white) and charity (red).

Italy has over 3,000 museums and is visited by almost 40,000,000 tourists yearly.

There are three active volcanoes: Vesuvius, Etna and Stromboli.

Pizza was invented in Naples in 1860's and is one of the few words which is understood all over the world.
